English and Entry Level Requirements

For entry into Sixth Form, candidates would normally be expected to offer one of the following qualifications at pass level or above…GSCE English, IGCSE English as a second language, HKCEE English (at Grade C or above), IELTS band 5.5 or any other equivalent EAL qualification.

For candidates looking to enter lower down the school we are looking for evidence that they have the potential to achieve Grade C or above at English GCSE (or equivalent). This is assessed through an age appropriate school exam to be invigilated by the agent involved. EAL provision is provided at a suitable level for each pupil.

The Entry Requirement for Sixth Form is 6 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent. We require the candidate to have a good pass grade (GCSE B or above) in the subjects they wish to pursue at A Level or Pre-U.

Application Deadlines

Ideally we need all students for the following September formally registered with the school by the Easter break. However, we always have a high demand for Spanish speaking places so parents should apply the year before they want their child to start to stand the best chance of success. We will take late entrants if we have space.

It seems like yesterday that I was brand new to the school.  With the warm atmosphere amongst teachers and Sixth Form, I quickly felt at home.  All the experiences at Leweston have enabled me to widen my horizons and learn to be independent.  It has been a fun, meaningful and brilliant two years. For me coming to Leweston was definitely an opportunity of a lifetime and a remarkable experience.

I can’t believe that our time at Leweston is actually over.  It makes me both sad and happy to leave and take the next step.  I have been at Leweston for seven years, so it really feels like I grew up with all the girls in my year group.  Leweston has taught me a lot of lessons that I will value for life.

At Leweston every student is treated individually and I was provided with the amazing opportunity to study in small groups with a high level of specialist teaching.  I received a bespoke education that I would not have received in any other school and as a result achieved my dream of being awarded a place at Trinity College Cambridge.  Having exams spread nicely over 2 years made them much less stressful and I got a chance to meet girls from all around the world which was a very nice experience.  I leave Leweston well prepared for my future studies.

Studying at Leweston was such a wonderful experience.  All students and teachers were welcoming and supportive and I made lots of friends.  Leweston gave me a chance to broaden my horizons and I have seen and learnt many things that are so different from my home country.  It is a place full of warmth and team spirit and a school that has given me the opportunity to open my mind, appreciate different cultures and become a more independent person.

Leweston was a great period of my life with lots of fun and many meaningful memories. I met so many kind and friendly people.  All of the students and teachers at Leweston are so willing to help me when I faced problems.  Studying in an international environment, I had the opportunity to interact with people from different countries, which allowed me to learn about different cultures and broaden my horizons. How lucky I am!
